People who have trouble sleeping, so make them cry or kick during sleep may be at risk of larger contract senility (demensia) or Parkinson disease, the research results published U.S. journal Neurology.
Sleep disturbance is often known by the term interruption of sleep rapid eye movement (REM). People who have trouble sleeping this rhythm does not have a normal muscle weakness occurred during the REM phase is often known as the dream in sleep. They even have the muscle activity as a very big hit, kick, or cry, especially when they reveal the dream.
Studies that involved 93 people with the type of sleep disturbance, but do not have symptoms or signs degeneratif nerve diseases, such as the lost memories or Parkinson disease. The development of health care participants, followed for five years.
During that time, 26 people contract the disease decreasing ability nerve. As many as fourteen people carry Parkinson disease, 11 suffered demensia, and have a diagnosed Alzheimer's Disease or lewy.
Researchers estimate, the risk of development of the five-year decline in the ability nerve disease is around 18 percent, while the risk for 10 years to reach 41 percent and 12-year risk of 52 percent.
"This result is of course very interesting for people who have sleep disturbances and their families and doctors," said study author Ronald Postuma from McGill University in Canada.
"These results may help us to better understand how the development of this disease degeneratif nerve. All it also indicates that there may be opportunities for the development of protection from the disease, perhaps even prevent it before symptoms may appear," he said.
